An instructor shows how to enter the track, the proper racing line and how to exit the track.

What a great place to test the limits of your Lotus and you. An incredibly challenging 2.2 mile course encompassing varied turns, long straight-a-ways and varied elevations. The day includes use of the club facilities for you and your guests including the club house, lounge areas and pool. Visit ‘Switch Cars’, see the Radical racers and enjoy all the facility has to offer.

Beginners, novices and first-timers are welcome as we will have a number of very experienced and highly qualified Driving Instructors on hand to show you the ropes. This is an excellent opportunity to learn what your Lotus is really capable of, and an excellent opportunity to learn how to drive safely at speed. No where else will you get such excellent high speed driving instruction for such a low all-inclusive price.

There are four run groups in order of experience. LCS is for Lotus Challenge Series members only:
  • WCL Beginner/Intermediate - First-timers and Novices with Instructors in right seat
  • WCL Advanced - Experienced drivers that may only need to learn the track
  • LCS Intermediate - Elise, Exige, and Lotus 2-Eleven competition drivers
  • LCS Advanced - Advanced Elise, Exige, and Lotus 2-Eleven competition drivers
WCL run groups are open to all makes and models of Lotus as well as to all other makes and models of cars including rentals. WCL drivers can move to a different run group upon request. Once an instructor signs you off, you will be able to solo. Rental helmets are available at the track for a nominal charge.

Please register in advance. If you wait to signup at the track, you run the risk that it may be sold out.

Directions: Spring Mountain Motorsports Ranch is located 45 miles west of Red Rock Hotel and Casino. From the hotel travel west 16 miles on Charleston Blvd through beautiful Red Rock Canyon to the end. (Watch for wild horses and burrows.) Turn right onto Blue Diamond Rd/NV-160 for 39 miles until the highway narrows to two lanes. Spring Mountain racetrack is on the right immediately after Gamebird Road.

Gas, Lunch and Dinner: From the racetrack turn right and go 1 mile into Pahrump to the first light. A Shell gas station is on the corner. Continue a few more miles and on the left is a Rebel gas station with racing fuel. (Although gas is available at the track, it is more expensive.) Turn right at the Shell station onto Winery road to go to Symphony's, a 4 star restaurant located at the Pahrump Winery 1 mile on the left, 3810 Winery Road, Pahrump, Nevada 89048 (775) 751-7800. A tour of the Pahrump Valley Winery and wine tasting is available for those who desire, and reservations are suggested for lunch or dinner. (Lunch is included with your track registration fee, but you may want something nicer, and this is "the" destination for dinner.) For NASCAR fans: Go straight at the Shell Station for another mile, and on the right you will see Wulfy's Restaurant next to the Best Western, 1101 S Highway 160, Pahrump, NV 89048 (775) 537-1111 with American food and a NASCAR theme of racing suits, helmets and NASCAR hoods and fenders on the walls and ceiling. For something unique: Turn left (instead of right) at the Shell Station onto Homestead Road. The Resort and Spa at Sheri's Ranch, 10551 Homestead Road, Pahrump, NV 89041 (866) 820-9100 is 8 miles down at the end of the road. This is by far the nicest legal brothel close to Las Vegas with a hotel, luxurious swimming pool, a comfortable pub restaurant with a good menu for lunch or dinner, and souvenir shop. They offer very interesting free tours of their facility anytime from 11:00am to 11:00pm for groups of up to 20 people at a time. Just ask the bartender. Their official sponsor is Budweiser, "The King of Beers"!

You should arrive early at 6:00am to unload your car, register, use the restrooms, and pass tech inspection. Everyone participating as a ‘driver’ will be required to attend the 7:00am Mandatory Drivers Briefing, and the Classroom Session at 7:30am. This will not be repeated again, so please be prompt. You must learn all of our rules, flags, passing zones and other information in advance of the Driver's Meeting. The Meeting will only be a quick review of the rules. We will take questions at the meeting, but we will not be teaching the basics of what you should already know. Please print out, complete, study, bring with you, and learn everything now: REGISTRATION & RULES FORM

The first WCL driver group session onto the track at 8:50am will be a tour of the track for Advanced Red Group Drivers with a Driving Instructor in the passenger seat to demonstrate ‘the line’ on all 10 turns of the 2.2 mile course. There may also be some Instructors driving their own cars, and some of these Instructors will be giving rides to their Beginner/Intermediate Green Group students. All drivers will have an Instructor with them in the passenger seat in all WCL Advanced and Beginner/Intermediate group sessions until the Instructor ‘signs-off’ each driver to solo by signing their logbook. Your Instructor will also sign your red or green windshield sticker enabling you to solo when he or she feels confident that you are able to safely navigate the racetrack on your own. No passengers are allowed in cars unless one of them is an Instructor, except during the 12:35pm Parade Laps. If you feel you are very experienced and competent enough to give rides, please consult with your Instructor who may then ask the Chief Instructor for special permission in your case.

The Parade Laps scheduled for 12:35pm are a slow speed lead-follow drive around the racetrack for Drivers and Spectators alike. Passengers are allowed, helmets are not required, and no passing is allowed. High speed driving will not be tolerated. The Instructor in the lead car will keep a moderate pace. All other cars are to maintain that speed without falling back. Another Instructor in the last car will make sure that no one drives unresponsibly.

‘Advanced’ Group Drivers are those with current competition licenses and those that have attended at least 3 track events per year over the past 3 years. ‘Intermediate’ Group Drivers are all others including first-timers. Driving Instructors will direct you to change groups as they deem appropriate. If you wish to change groups to move up to the faster group or down to the slower group, please ask permission of a Driving Instructor who will give you the appropriate sticker. If you are sharing a car with another driver and you are both Intermediate Drivers, you must alternate every other Intermediate Group Session. If you are sharing a car with an Advanced Driver, you may alternate between the Advanced and Intermediate Groups.

The track is ‘hot’ from 8am to 5pm but will be closed to all WCLM participants during lunch. A reminder – 8 hours bottle to throttle – the event organizers will prohibit anyone from participating (even if they have paid for this event) if it is felt that they would be a hazard to themselves or anyone else.
